Looker Studio: Creating a date dimension from a datetimestamp

Often when building a dashboard you will want to group activities (metrics) by a datetime dimension.

This could be day, week, month, year etc.

Looker studio lets you select any of those attributes once you have dragged this into the chart.
However, you may want to control the date or time roll up yourself. If you are wanting to create a data based value, you will need to convert a datetimestamp into a date value.
This can also be used in a filter the data on your page or chart.

We have created a short  on so you can follow along.  In this example, we use the createdTimestamp datetime dimension from our ActiveCampaign data connector.
